Pancake Breakfast and Basket Auction Pics.

The Pancake Breakfast and Basket Auction, held at HCS on Saturday, March 9, was a great success!  We served over 200 people breakfast and we raised over $2,600 for our school!

Many people came together to help this event be a success. In addition to HCS parents, families, community members, teachers and staff, PiE would like to thank the following businesses for donating to either the breakfast or the auction: Boivin's Mountain Pure Maple Syrup, Jen Bradford, Burton Snowboards, Dakin Farm, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Green Mountain Organic Creamery (Kimball Brook Farm), Hannaford South Burlington, Hannaford Williston, Healthy Living, Jay Peak Resort, Koval’s, Lantman’s, McKenzie Meats, Katie O’Brien, Pet Food Warehouse, Shaw’s Williston, Vermont Smoke & Cure and Allison Wagner.

Special thanks to Alyssa Lasher and the HCS teachers who helped put together the baskets and to all the families who came together for good food, good deals and good company. We look forward to next year!

Scholastic Book Fair

For four days in December we’ll have our own bookstore at school! The bookstore will be open Monday, Dec. 3 through Thursday, Dec 6 in the Multi-Purpose room next to the cafeteria.
Book Fair Hours:
Monday 7:45-3:30
Tuesday 7:45-3:30
Wednesday 7:45-6:00
Thursday 7:45-6:00
We know that when children pick their own books, they are more likely to read them. We also know that children who read 30 minutes per day graduate in the top 10% of their class.  Help us raise readers by talking with your children about what they like to read and encouraging them to read daily.
Proceeds from the book fair will directly benefit students and teachers at HCS in the form of classroom distribution, spring and fall grants, and other school-based PiE initiatives.
Come shop for holiday gifts!  Hope to see you there!
We need volunteers to staff the book fair!

Cardraising

If you normally order holiday cards from places like Shutterfly, Snapfish or TinyPrints, where you choose a template and then upload family photos to customize it for your family - we have an exciting new website for you to use which raises money for HCS, with no extra cost to you!

It's called Cardraising.

Click here (or the graphic below) to take a tour and learn more - and to start working on your holiday card.  Just make sure you've chosen Hinesburg Community School before you start.

Thanks!
